Welcome Back!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , on July 17, 2012 by Maskerade

I just wanted to say that I’m back on the grind for a few different reasons. Since my last post, I switched up my music strategy and started working with other artists more. Namely Breaking Day, a pop group that I started back in April 2011. Things have just barely started to move with them, but people can see that they are really good.

I also decided now to get back on the artist train for a little bit as well. But, before I start working on music, I need to get back in shape. I started working out, doing Insanity by Shaun T. I did it for about a week, two weeks ago, but I wasn’t dieting. Exercise without diet, doesn’t work that well. So yesterday, I ate the right food and I worked out. My body doesn’t feel like it going to fall and that’s good. The meals are hard because I don’t sleep on the same schedule. For instance, today I didn’t get up until 10am. I didn’t start eating till about 11am. That’s not good when yesterday my day began at 9am. But I’ll just follow procedure and eat my last meal at 11pm tonight.

Meals like this are not exciting, but they get the job done.

I am but a shell of my former self (several years ago). This is not pretty.

So here you have it. This is what I look like at 37 years old. Its time to change a few things. In a few weeks I’m going to cop some supplements from the Body by Vi challenge. I just haven’t made the call, because I don’t want to be sold when I already am. It’s kind of an important step in my process of becoming a self-made millionaire.

Maskerade A Smashing Success at Charity Event @ The Highlands Hollywood

Mar 26, 2011 – On a night of birthday celebrations for Eric “EZ” Zuley and Jon Scudder, Maskerade shined on stage for a benefit for Japan relief. Many in attendance were amazed at the singer’s energy and song selection.

For those of you who don’t know, Maskerade is a singer, songwriter, and producer of R&B/Pop music. Although he’s still a relative unknown, he’s already been linked to some big names in the music industry, including Tony Neal of the Core DJ’s and NFL Pro Bryant McKinney. He sings with the swagger of Usher and the voice of a Ne-Yo with a hint of Jagged Edge.

His first entry, “Don’t Take Away My Dance” was a potential hit that stunned the crowd with it’s upbeat tempo and pop-synthesized chords. The record was reminiscent of a male Lady Gaga song and made everyone in the crowd start moving. Next, Maskerade slowed the tempo just a tad with his R&B song, “Sexy, Grown & Beautiful”. This record is destined to be a hit if ever it hits any Urban/Urban AC station. Maskerade brought the club back up to speed with his breakaway smash “Picture in the Air”. This song was a cool 120BPM that kept the crowd into it and they begged for more.

For a man that not too many people have heard of, his stock is on the rise. Maskerade is destined to be a star in any realm, singing, writing, or producing. He’s got a knack of great songs and boasts an incredible stage presence. Be on the look out for this rising star!!

Maskerade: I Am Maskerade update: Video Blog – Day 4

Today I had a great meeting with Evalyn Salcedo. A friend of mine from the Philippines. She’s very excited about the possibilities of my music over seas. There is a lot of competition in the USA with the accessibility of music software. Beatmakers, singers, and songwriters are popping out of the woodworks. So maybe, just maybe I can break a little bit in Asia. Who knows?
What I do know is that I’m ready for anything. Working for the man and not the music is just not for me. It’s always been about music. That’s the only way I’ll be happy with this life that I’m living.

Shout out to Kellyne Clapper and Terrance Allen for pledging with me. Much appreciated!

Take care everyone. See you tomorrow.

Music Success in 9 Weeks – Week 5

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , on August 9, 2010 by Maskerade

And again, this last week we’ve had some good things happen. I got the final edit of my first show this year. I’m going to use this video as a promo reel for trying to book more shows. My last performance that I booked, did not go so well. When I got there the DJ could barely get the sound system working right, so I didn’t go up. I did manage to pass out some free demos and add a few people to my email list.

Speaking of email lists, that’s what this weeks focus was about. The thing is though, now we’re adding on to the other lists of priorities that need to be taken care of. Am I up for it? Absolutely! It’s also a nice goal to shoot for 1,000 email listers. I like the idea of that. Even though there will be plenty of things for me to do and not enough time to do them all. I feel like the key is not to get caught up in the number, but in the effort. What I’m doing now is a whole lot better than doing nothing. In the end the true goal is to be much better off than when I started. Whether I win this challenge or not, I will be much better than I was.

I actually have a great email list on I’ve also been continuing to build it as I go. Last week I actually added another name, so that was good. What I haven’t done in the past is keep in consistent contact. I’m pretty sure that is a problem. So the weeks focus is on that. So I sent out my first letter in many many months. I just explained that I’ve been working on a great album that I plan to release around the end of the year. I told them I was going to do my best to keep them in the loop and release a few songs here and there. I’m also going to post videos in the newsletter as well. My goal here is the consistency.

Youtube is going strong. My channel has gotten over 100,000 views and I plan on doing about 10 more covers plus something controversial. (Maybe I can go viral). I also have a new friend, Scarecrow Beats. He just posted one song that we collaborated on, “Unbreak Your Heart”, and it’s gotten a ton of plays already. He’s really been pushing it because we both believe its a great song. Check it out here.

Twitter has shot up to 63 followers so far. I’m following 268 right now. I plan to increase that to 1,000. What I found is that the more you follow, the more that follow you! This helps everyone!

Facebook is a force to be reckoned with. I’m keeping all my friends abreast as to what’s going on in my life. Hopefully more come out and join me at my shows.

Myspace feels like a waste of time at times. I’m not giving up on it though. There are still a ton of potential fans on there.

Of all the things that deal with social media, I feel that blogs are the best. Learning about google reader and already having over 20 RSS subscriptions is really helping me get my name out there to people that matter.

That’s all for now. See you soon!
